In this post, I will share some more information about the Indus valley civilization which I started in my previous post. so here I continue with "Important sites "

Important Sites 

3 Kalibanga

                                                   
Kalibanga was discovered by Amlanand Ghose on the bank of the river Ghagra and this was excavated by B.B Lal and V.K Thapar. Some Historian say Kalibanga was "Third Capital" of Indus Valley
  • Bones of Camel found.
  •  Wooden Drainage Line found.
  • 7 rectangular altar of fire found 
  • The oldest evidence of Earthquake was found 

4 Lothal

                                               
Lothal was discovered by S.R.Rao in 1954 and excavated in1957-1958. S.R.Rao give it the name of "Small Harappa" and "Small Mohenjo-Daro". It was surrounded by the wall and it looks like a commercial city. 
  • The oldest Dockyard was found
  • Circular and Square shape fire altar found
  • Copper sculpture of the dog, rabbit, bull, and duck found
  • Wooden Grainery and Ruler' s house found
  • The scale of Elephant teeth was found

5 Dholavira

                                                       
Dholavira was discovered by J.P.Joshi and it is situated between the river Manhar and Manshara and in 1967-68 it was excavated by R.S.Visth.It is a rectangular city and divided into three part namely fort, middle city, and city.
  • Stadium and Playground was found 
  • Part of the polished white stone found
  • A pond was found in which they store rainwater

Indus Valley script

The script of Indus  Valley has more than 400 characters and first Cunningham found this script on the seal of a bull. Many historians try to read the script but they fail so the script was not read yet.

The social life 

There was a social difference in the Indus society. The society was divided into Priest, Warrior, Trader, and Labour. The evidence of the slavery system was found and the society was matriarchal.

Food supplements 

Indus people were both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. Rice, Barley, Millet, Honey, Sheep, and Goat were their main food supplement

Religious beliefs 

The people of Indus Valley worship the goddess and early stage of Lord Shiva name Pashupati. They also worship water, trees, and animals. In trees, they mostly worship Neem and Pipal and they were not familiar with temples.

Trade and Commerce 

They practice the barter system for trade. they do trade with Mesopotamia, Egypt, Persia and with Central Asia.

The decline of the Indus valley

There was a great thought difference between historian about the decline of this civilization. Many historians say that due Aryan Invader this civilization decline and other say due to flood it was destroyed and much other say that it was declined due to climatic change.

Introduction

In this post, you will get knowledge of the Indus valley civilization but before going forward we have to understand the meaning of civilization. So the meaning of civilization is "the society, the culture and the way of life in a particular area." so in this, you will get information about the society, the culture and the way of life in ancient Indus valley. The first site of Indus Valley was discovered in 1921 by Dayaram Shani.

As you see in the above map the Indus Valley civilization spread mostly in Pakistan and in North West India but exceptionally two sites found in Afghanistan namely Soturgohi and Mundigak. In Pakistan, its sites found in South Baluchistan, in Sindh, and in Punjab (Pakistan) and in India, its sites mostly found in Punjab(India), in Haryana, in Rajasthan, and in Gujrat.




History of Indus valley excavation

In 1856 Cuningham first director of Archeological Survey of India found the Harappan seal on which image of the bull was mentioned but he cannot explain the importance of that seal. In 1912 J.F Fleet give his report on Indus Valley in Royal Asiatic Society but he also not explain the importance of this civilization. In 1921 the day will come when Dayaram Shani discover the first site of Indus Valley civilization name Harappa and one year after in 1922 R.D Banerjee discover Mohanjo-Daro. Today almost 2800 sites were excavated.

There are many different opinions of historians about the period of the Indus Valley Civilization here I will mention some opinion

Important Site Of Indus Valley

1 Harappa



In 1921 Dayaram Shani discovered Harappa on the bank of the river Ravi and in 1923-24 under the leadership of John Marshell, Dayaram Shani excavated the Harappa. This city looks like an administrative city.


R-37 is the Dead Men line (Graveyard) and H.R is the Burial found in Harappa.
Grainery was also found in Harappa
Other important this found here are a copper scale, bones of a donkey and human copper sculpture
2 Mohenjo -Daro





In 1922 R.D Banerjee discover this site, this site is situated on the bank of the river Indus. This city is also called the mound of death and the garden of the desert, this city looks like a spiritual city.

Here we found the ancient proof of Malariya and Silver

राममंदिर



आजकल हमारे देश मे राममंदिर निर्माण को लेकर काफि विवाद चल रहा है। कुछ लोगो का मानना है कि अयोध्या मे राममंदिर का निर्माण होना चाहिए क्योकि यह हमारे देश के बहुसंख्यक लोगो की आस्था का सवाल है।यह बात सही भी है क्योकि प्रजातंत्र मे बहुमत के अनुसार हि काम किया जाता है। लेकिन श्री राम का मंदिर बना लेने से हमारे देश मे रामराज्य की स्थापना हो जाएगी? जो ऐसा सोचते वो बहुत बडे भ्रम मे है क्योकि अगर ऐसा होता तो हमारा देश ऐसा कभी नही होता।

हम सभी  अपने आप को रामजी के वंशज कहते है लेकिन हम उनके आदर्श को नही मानते। अगर ऐसा होता तो आज हमारे समाज मे महिलाओ का अपमान नही होता ,  इतना अपराध नही होता।
आज हमारे समाज ने रामजी और रामायण की मात्र पुजा होती है और उनके आदर्शो की धज्जीया उडती है। आजकल हमारे समाज मे राम भक्त कम है और राममंदिर मे दानपेटी भरने वाले  कथित दानदाता बहुत है जो एक हाथ से गलत काम करते है और दूसरे हाथ से दान देते है। अब हमे रामजी की स्थापना मंदिरो मे न करके अपने मन , कर्म और वचन मे स्थापित करना होगा । अब हमारे समाज को कथित दानदाताओ से ज्यादा सच्चे रामभक्तो की आवश्यकता है।अब हमे  रामजी को मंदिर की दिवारो से बाहर लाकर अपने समाज मे स्थापित करना होगा क्योकि यही समय की मांग है।
